Heaven forbid this generation be remembered for anything but the #selfie, but the self-taken photograph is undeniably all the rage with the smartphone-wielding populace and indeed many a Mig user.
So who better to offer selfie tips than the folks who pose for photographs for a living? (Watch the video below.)
1. Hold the phone up higher
This
was the most popular tip, mentioned by most of the models. “Go above
and get lots of light,” said Jamie Bochert. Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls
and Adriana Lima all held their phones higher up, to catch better light
coming from above and to make their faces taper downwards.
2. Figure out which is your best side
For
Daria Strokous, that’s the left side of her face, she revealed in the
video. Lima too tried this, as did Alessandra Ambrosio and Maria Borges,
who tested out selfies at different angles.
3. Tilt your head
Tilting
the head lengthens the neck and helps reveal a better edge along the
chin and jawline, according to Ajak Deng. Ambrosio also tilted her head,
lifting the phone up to hit both this tip and tip #1.
4. Get your hair right
Just
like in real life, your hairstyle can make or break your look. Candice
Swanepoel tousled her hair for more volume and struck a pose.
